Strategy:

The loc of the tablet is in Meso 30k 60k.  There is a building with 4 doors leading into it.  Each guarded by red and purp mobs.  The tablet is inside a box in the building, but there is more than one box... its like treasure island where mobs pop from the boxes.   Nov 7

The Guardian lies to you. When she says she is weak to something, she is actually immune to it.  Feb 10

my guild has been farming this encounter to equip as many casters as we can with it.
Pretty easy with 1 group and the right strat.
If you have 3-4 MW3 ice wizards, it's easy.

The trick is to not hit it whatsoever when it spawns and wait for the correct message to flash by then pop your MW's and pbaoe the sucker down.

So one group of a s/s paladin, another s/s tank guarding the paladin, cleric with mana sphere helps, 3-4 MW3 ice wizards and a theurg to spam group bt. The paladin does one taunt to get aggro and start engaging and twisting af and heal. Only one taunt as taunts are technically 'body' attacks and doing more may trigger her to split. Theurg just spams group bt to try to keep the damage on the paladin to a minimum. No pets! Pets will most likely cause her to split as well.
Then just keep healing the paladin with small heals until the wizards see 'weak to fire' message and then pop MW and pbaoe her to death.
This group setup I have been running has been able to get the Tablet almost every time.  Feb 10

well we did it with two mw ice casters and one fire wizard(failed)...problem is when it said weak to fire us two ice wizards got it down to 15% then it said it was weak to something else so we stopped. Well we figured we'd wait till it said it was weak to cold to have the fire wiz mw and nuke it down. no such luck, it, when we got weak to cold, the fire wiz got 100% resists and cause it to split. guess you'd have to find out what damage to use through trial and error.

ice is right below fire on the resists list though, it might work like that. When it says weak to cold you look at your resists list and see whats below it and its really weak to that magic.   Feb 17

We attempted this last night with two groups.  The entrances to the Library are guarded N-E-S-W by two purple triton guards (at each entrance).  They do not BAF, so just pull the first one out and kill, then drag the second one inside the Library, as they have a pretty fast repop.

Once in the Library, stay away from the walls, or you'll aggro the guards on the outside.

There are five chests on the floor.  Have a single person (still grouped - we used a warrior) pick a chest and open it.  If it is the wrong chest, the opener will get a hefty chunk of damage and a purple triton will pop.  Defeat the purple normally.

When you get the right chest, the quest mob will pop.  She will do two things: heal herself if you hit her with either a certain kind of damage (or *possibly* being a certain class), or split in two and spawn a new Guardian.

Unfortunately the encounter seems somewhat borked at the moment.  The Guardian advertises that she is weak to a certain type of weapon or magic, but meleeing/casting that damage type on her causes her to heal - perhaps just misleading information?  Also, she appears to "come out of the box" resistant to two forms of damage (one melee, one magic) which can cause auto heals and splits without prior warning.  Weapon procs, armor procs, and style effects may also cause her to heal/split.

You may need to kill the splits before you can damage her again.

Do not /stick the Guardian as she'll swim to the exits of the library every now and then, which can aggro the outside guards.     Nov 15

Tips:

Its a very difficult encounter that pushes the limits of a good group and often takes 2.   Jan 13
We used 2 animists yes, but the last time we killed him he was immune to energy damage until 25% so MW didn't do jack crap. I actually didnt even use mine. That was a pure 1 group kill. Heal and power fields make it a LOT easier.   Jan 18

We dropped the guardian using a gaggle of Wizards and Theurgists.  Only 1 had MW, so it's not a prerequisite.  Just wait until the mob says it is weak to heat, then everyone who has a Cold-based nuke goes to town.  We had a Sorc spamming cold debuff as well.   Feb 24

We did this encounter last night. The first time we got rolled when the guardian was at about 40%. The next time we did it, we assigned 1 group to deal with the adds and everyone else staying on the guardian. Having 3 theurgists and a ml8 perfector there helped a ton. Mob dropped pretty quickly actually. The splits that happen do self heal so they were a pain.  Feb 3
