Leveling this Artifact

They took a forever and a day to level, even sitting in the middle of the snakepit with powerfield and crack 3 and chainkilling iaculi.   Feb 18

This has been done with about 4 full groups.

Loc is something like ... 27k 7k Arbor Glen off the top of my head. There's a floating platform with two ramps and a bunch of red - purp centaur outlookers and whatnot. To activate the encounter, you need an Aerus Truesight Potion which drops in Deep Volcanus randomly - you should get several over the course of farming for the faction mobs there.

The way we did it was probably the wrong way to approach it - we bruteforced it and got owned throughout, even with 4g (granted, a large percentage bots...but we were totally in the dark as to what would happen in the encounter.).

Essentially, what happens: You step infront of the scarab door on the statue and the potion is consumed, with something about the door being bound to you or now or something. Then, starting to the East (I think) a stream of centaurs start coming. At first, they're red-purp scouts and warriors. Wave two adds mages to the mix, with wave three adding sages and healers. We died multiple times and ended up just chain-rezzing the support while like 3 tanks tanked a quarter of them (it seems there's a pathing problem with the upper part of the ramp as the centaurs seem to get stuck). Something we noticed near the end was that the normal centaurs and the flamedancer warriors and whatnot were all fighting each other - which is odd, as the first time we tried it (with less than 1g :>) we got mobbed by like 50 centaurs, more than 70% outlookers and stuff. I don't know how feasible it would be to fight on the ground, etc - it appears credit is given when you PICK UP the boots, so it's not like you have to be on the platform when the last centaur dies. I'll see what other ss's saved, but as I was on my second account I doubt many saved.   Jan 4

The Aerus Truesight potion drops in Deep Volcanus, btw. If you do ML7, it'll drop quite a few times -- can't remember which mobs, nothing special.

What the scrolls read once you combine them:
##The King Kiron's Notes to Cyrell reads, "Cyrell - You know that I consider you more than just my most skilled smith. Over the years you have become my friend, which is why I make this request of you. As you surely know, my beloved son Chiron is working on completing the trials. As you also know he is soon to face the dangers of Volcanus and alas, he is not the brightest or most skilled competitor and. Cyrell I ask you, not as a king but as a devoted father, craft for my son a pair of boots that will protect his feet from the lava. Chiron doesn't pay attention to where he is walking. The last thing I want him to do is burn his feet. Money is no object. Let me know when they are done. - King Kiron"

##The King Kiron's Notes to Cyrell reads, "Cyrell - Thank you for sending over the boots as soon as they were done. You have surely outdone yourself this time! They fit Chiron perfectly and he says he they are so light he feels like he has wings on his feet when he wears them (although that is the last thing that boy needs since he always has his head in the clouds!) But you have finished them just in time. Tomorrow Chiron begins his journey to Volcanus to continue his trials. I shall still worry about him, but I know he will be better protected by wearing the boots you have made him. I shall send my steward down with your payment today. You have my thanks, Cyrell. - King Kiron"

##The King Kiron's Notes to Cyrell reads, "Cyrell - Thank you for joining the search parties looking for my son. I know that you loved Chiron as your own son and will miss him as much as I will. I have decided to have a statue of the boy made and placed in Aerus for all to see. The centaur that returned Chiron's body to me has agreed to collect volunteers to stand guard over the statue. I am planning on having the boots you made will be placed upon the statue, in honor of all the years of service you have given to me. Come to my throne room and we shall toast my son, Cyrell. - Your friend, Kiron"
